Accessibility statement

Our commitment to WCAG 2.1 AA on this website and in Sentra CMS, how we test, and how to give feedback.

We want everyone to be able to use this website and Sentra CMS, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or captions.

Our standard

This website and the Sentra CMS admin aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard in the ADA Title II rule for state and local government websites. Our accessibility conformance report (VPAT) gives the detail for each success criterion.

How we test

  • An automated accessibility checker (axe-core) runs on every page of this website, and on the Sentra CMS admin, in both light and dark mode.
  • Sentra CMS’s own publish check reviews every page before it goes live.
  • Pages are checked at 320 pixels wide and at 200% text size.
  • Every feature has a keyboard alternative. For example, drag and drop also works with Move mode and Up and Down buttons.

Built into Sentra CMS

  • Agencies can’t publish a page with blocking accessibility problems. The publish check can’t be bypassed.
  • Every image needs alt text, and AI suggestions must be confirmed by a person.
  • Theme colors are checked for contrast as you pick them.
  • Templates and widgets we provide meet WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • Staff are warned before an idle sign-out and can choose to stay signed in.

Known limitations

  • Product screenshots on this site are pictures of the Sentra CMS admin. Each has a text description, and the same information is in the text beside it.
  • Some list filters in the admin reload the list as soon as you choose an option, rather than waiting for a button.
  • Content that agencies write or upload, such as PDFs and video, is checked but remains the agency’s responsibility.

Compatibility

Designed for current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, and for use with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack.
